Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Abiword is an open source, multi platform ligtweight document editor, used by default on the Xubuntu and Lubuntu systems. The latest version available is AbiWord 3.0, which has been released a few days ago.
Among other enhancements, Abiword 3.0 comes with support for GTK+3, RDF drag-and-drop support, double-buffering of drawings to reduce screen flickering and many bug fixes.
It has been added to the default repositories of Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Linux Mint 16 Petra, so installing AbiWord 3.0 on this systems is easy. Just update the system and install the abiword package. Like this:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install abiword
