BBQLinux is an Arch Linux based Linux distribution, created by the Android developers. BBQLinux will be a development environment for the Android applications. They have chosen Arch Linux in because it is constantly updated to the stable versions of the programs.

As the default desktop environment, they have chosen MATE, and LightDM as the default display manager. BBQLinux has a graphical installer, called bbqlinux-installer, that facilitates the users to easily install the system. It comes with a few Android tools pre-installed, like Android SDK and CyanogenMod. Because of this Arch Linux derivate distro, Arch will gain popularity among both users and developers.
