Canonical Has Finally Fixed The Telephony Issues On Ubuntu Touch Running On Either Nexus 4 Or The Bq Aquaris Phones

Canonical’s Łukasz Zemczak has announced that the Ubuntu Touch developers decided to release a hotfix update for the OTA-5 Update to patch the telephony functionality issue occurred on Nexus 4 and Bq Aquaris devices after disabling Wi-Fi.

The update patch has been released yesterday and it is available in the regular Ubuntu stable channels, and as other updates, it will require you to reboot the phone in order to receive it.

Also related, Canonical is in need of film makers to create video ads for the Ubuntu Touch scopes and created a contest.

From the official announcement:

“Create a video story that expresses the emotion, wonder and beauty of immediate and immersive discovery of a rich, full world around the subject you’re interested in,” says Canonical. “Choose one of these 3 themes: MUSIC, TODAY, NEARBY. Or combine all three of these themes in one video if you like.”

The contest ends onSeptember 22, 2015 at 23:59h and the creators of the best three video ads a money prize. €5000 ($5.500) for first place, €3.000 ($3.300) for the second place and €2.000 ($2.200) for the third place.
