Deepin 12.12 Has Been Released, With Its Own DE, Deepin Desktop Environment

Hello Linux Geeksters. Deepin 12. 12 has been released yesterday. Deepin in a Linux distro based on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, with its own DE, Deepin desktop environment.

After six months of hard work, the development of Deepin 12.12 is finally finished, and the distro is awesome. Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE) is based on Gnome Shell, with some indicators integrated from elementaryOS and some Mutter patches. DDE allows the users to group their applications on the desktop.

Also the Software Center has been upgraded to 3.0, including an improved home page with recommandations of applications and other tips. Deepin 12.12 comes with the following apps already installed: DMusic 2.0, Nautilus 3.8.1, Firefox 21, Google Chrome 27, Thunderbird 17.0.6, LibreOffice 4.0.2, Kingsoft Office (WPS Office) 9.1.0, GNOME Sound Recorder 3.4.0, and Skype 4.2.0.11 Pidgin 2.10.7, video codecs and the Flash Player pre-installed.
