Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Amarok is the default music player for KDE, but it can be also used with other Desktop Environments. The latest version available is Amarok 2.7.90, which has been recently released. For a full list of features and improvements, see this link.

how to install Amarok 2.7.90 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Linux Mint 16 Petra and Linux Mint 15 Nadia

In this article I will show you how to install Amarok 2.7.90 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Linux Mint 16 Petra and Linux Mint 15 Nadia. Instructions for installing Amarok on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya can be found here.

Because Amarok 2.7.90 it is available via PPA, installing it on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy, all you have to do is:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:smartboyhw/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install amarok
