How To Install Atom 0.104.0 On Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pinguy OS, LXLE And Other Ubuntu Derivatives

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Atom is an open-source, multi-platform text editor, having a simple and intuitive graphical user interface and a bunch of interesting features for writting: CSS, HTML, JavaScript and other web programming languages. Among others, it has support for macros, auto-completion a split screen feature and it integrates with the file manager.

The latest version available is Atom 0.104.0 which now works on both 32 bit (i386) and 64 bit (amd64) systems.

In this article I will show you how to install Atom 0.104.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 13 Maya, LXLE 14.04, Pinguy OS 14.04, Pinguy OS 12.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Isis, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and other Ubuntu derivative systems.

Because it is available via PPA, installing Atom 0.104.0 on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pinguy OS, Elementary OS and LXLE systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the atom package. Like this:
