As you may know, Audience is a video player with a minimalist graphical user interface, created for Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, having the basic functions of a video player: browse/open/resume video files, add subtitles and multiple-audio tracks and organize files in playlists. The latest version available is Audience 0.1, which is still under development.

how to install Audience 0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

In this article I will show you how to install Audience 0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

Because it is available via PPA, installing Audience 0.1 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy. All you have to do is add the needed ppas, update the local repository index and install the audience package. Like this:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:audience-members/ppa
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vala-team
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install audience
