How To Install Elementary Tweaks On Elementary OS 0.2 Luna And Elementary OS 0.3 Isis

Hello Linux Geeksters. The elementary OS developers have started work for their new Linux system, Elementary OS 0.3 Isis, which will be based on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr LTS. Despite the fact that there isn’t much information about Elementary OS 0.3, a demo video of it has been released, highlighting some of the changes and new features.

As you may know, Elementary Tweaks is an app similar to Ubuntu Tweak, that enables the users to easily customize the Pantheon desktop environment.

How To Install Elementary Tweaks On Elementary OS 0.2 Luna And Elementary OS 0.3 Isis

In this article I will show you how to install Elementary Tweaks on Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and Elementary OS 0.3 Isis.

Installing Elementary Tweaks on either Elementary OS 0.2 or Elementary OS 0.3 is easy. All you have to do is add the PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the elementary-tweaks package. Follow the instructions for your system exactly, in order to get a successful installation.

How to install Elementary Tweaks on Elementary OS 0.2 Luna:

$ sudo sudo apt-add-repository ppa:versable/elementary-update
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install elementary-tweaks

How to install Elementary Tweaks on Elementary OS 0.3 Isis:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:versable/elementary-tweaks-isis
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install elementary-tweaks

After the app got installed, open the Switchboard and start the tool called Tweak.

    I was just wondering, why should the settings thing need to install a tweaks app?

    Why isn’t it included in the first place?
