Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Evernote is a popular service for note-taking that has support for saving text, voice memos and video notes. Everpad is an unofficial Evernote client, that integrates well with Unity, but also works on KDE and Gnome. The latest version available is Everpad 2.15.8, which has been released for a while, but yesterday got support for Ubuntu 14.04.
In this article I will show you how to install Everpad 2.15.8 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Everpad 2.15.8 on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the everpad package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nvbn-rm/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install everpad
Optional, to remove everpad do:
$ sudo apt-get remove everpad
Or, if you want to uninstall everpad, disable the recently added PPA and downgrade all the packages that got updated via the PPA, do:
$ sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
$ sudo ppa-purge ppa:ppa:nvbn-rm/ppa
