How To Install exFAT-utils on Fedora 20/19/18/17, Mageia 4 And Arch Linux

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you know, the Linux systems do not have native support for Microsoft’s exFAT filesystems.

To do read and write operations on exFAT filesystems, you need to have additional software installed, until the exFAT support will be added to the Linux Kernel. Because Fedora, Arch Linux and Mageia use bleeding edge technology, the exFAT-utils tool (needed for exFAT support) is available in the default repositories.

In this article I will show you how to install exFAT-utils on Fedora 20, Fedora 19, Fedora 18, Fedora 17, Mageia 4, and Arch Linux.

Thanks for the good tip. Just a note on Mageia 4, you need to install fuse-exfat as well, so also run:
    sudo urpmi fuse-exfat
    after
    sudo urpmi exfat-utils
