How To Install Firefox 24 On Fedora 19, Fedora 18 And Fedora 17 Via Repository

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Firefox 24 has been recently released. Among others, Firefox 24 comes with a new feature called “Close tabs to the right”, that enables the users to close all the opened tabs from the right side of the current one, with only one click. For a full list of improvements, see the official changelog.

In this article I will show you how to install Firefox 24 on Fedora 19, Fedora 18 and Fedora 17, via the RPM Fusion repository.

Because Firefox 24 is available via the RPMfusion repository, installing it on the latest versions of Fedora is easy. All you have to do is download and install the rpmfusion repository, update the local repository index and install the firefox package. Like this:

$ $ wget http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm
$ wget http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm
$ sudo rpm -i rpmfusion-*-release-stable.noarch.rpm
$ sudo yum update
$ sudo yum install firefox
