How To Install Frostwire 5.6.5 On Fedora 19, Fedora 18, Fedora 17 And CentOS 6

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, FrostWire is a free, open-source, cross-platform BitTorrent application, running on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. The latest version available is FrostWire 5.6.5, which has been released recently.

how to install FrostWire 5.6.5 on Fedora 19, Fedora 18, Fedora 17 and CentOS 6

In this article I will show you how to install FrostWire 5.6.5 on Fedora 19, Fedora 18, Fedora 17 and CentOS 6.

Because it is not available via any repository (or at least not yet), we have to download Frostwire 5.6.5 from the official site, in order to install it on Fedora and CentOS. Like this:

$ wget -c http://dl.frostwire.com/frostwire/5.6.5/frostwire-5.6.5.noarch.rpm
$ sudo rpm -i frostwire-5.6.5.noarch.rpm

    Just thought I might mention to you that some people might skip reading your articles like this one on Frostwire simply because you do not say WHAT Frostwire (or whatever the subject of the article) IS.

    You go to the trouble to say “Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, FrostWire is a free, open-source, cross-platform application, running on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.”, but never say why the reader should care if they don’t already know the target software.
