Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Hedgewars is a clone of the popular Worms game, but it uses hogs, not worms. The users can choose from a lot of 2D maps, use different weapons or punches to kill the hogs from the rival teams.

The latest version available is Hedgewars 0.9.21, which has been released a while ago.

In this article I will show you how to install Hedgewars 0.9.21 on Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet, Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Deepin 2014, Peppermint Five, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2 and other Ubuntu derivative systems.

How to install Hedgewars 0.9.21 on Ubuntu 15.04 and Ubuntu 14.10 systems:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install hedgewars

How to install Hedgewars 0.9.21 on Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems:

$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu trusty-getdeb games" >/etc/apt/sources.list.d/playdeb.list'
$ wget -q -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install hedgewars

Optional, to remove hedgewars from either Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 or a derivative system, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove hedgewars
