How To Install HotShots 1.2.0 On Ubuntu 13.04, 12.10, 12.04, Linux Mint 15, 14, 13 And Elementary OS 0.2 Luna

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may already know, HotShots is a lightweight screenshot tool with editing options. It is a lighter tool similar to Shutter. The latest version available is HotShots 1.2.1, which has been recently released, but it is not available via any PPA yet, so installing it is not easy at all, because we have to build it from sources.

HotShots 1.2.0 is the previous version, but the latest available via repository.

In this article I will show you how to install HotShots 1.2.0 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.

Because it is available via PPA, installing HotShots 1.2.0 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS is easy. Just do:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dhor/myway
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install hotshots
