But don’t you worry. If you are a KDE fan, you can install it easily on your new Linux Mint. In this article I will show you how to install KDE on Linux Mint 15 Olivia.

There are different KDE versions available, for KDE standard do:

For the full version, install the kde-full package:

If you want KDE Plasma Desktop do:

$ sudo apt-get install kde-plasma-desktop

Also, you can install KDE Plasma Desktop, the netbook edition:

The last alternative is to install Kubuntu desktop:

    installed the kde standard on mint 15 cinnamon,
    usual is log out then back in on kde,
    no problem there.
    the Q. can cinnamon be safely removed from system. as i am a kde user and the only user on this pc.
    .was also thinking of later also of getting only updates for the kde,and not also the cinnamon.
    many thanks,
    bobby

    Bobby, I am in the exact same boat (and with the exact same question)..
    I tested this out on my laptop (back-up PC) and still see the cinnamon (not my style and lack of choice).
    I did the full KDE install and it still looks like cinnamon.

    I have been wondering if I can purge cinnamon now so it is left with only KDE.

    I need to get this working because something I did with the drivers on my main are really screwing it up now and I will either be forced to reinstall Mint 14, or get this working first..

      you need to select it in the display manager. I am sure you can remove cinnamon if you so desire, I like it as a backup DE.
