Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Kdenlive is an open-source video editor, running on both Linux and FreeBSD and using FFmpeg, MLT video framework and Frei0r effects. It can be used for both basic video editing or semi-profesional work.

how to install Kdenlive 0.9.6 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

In this article I will show you how to install Kdenlive 0.9.6 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

Kdenlive 0.9.6 is availabie in the default repositories of Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Linux Mint 16 Petra. Just do:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install kdenlive

Because it is available via PPA for Ubuntu 13.04/12.10/12.04 and Linux Mint 15/14/13 installing Kdenlive 0.9.6 is easy. Add the PPA, update the local repository index and install the package:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install kdenlive
