Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Kernel 4.0 RC2 has been released, being delayed with one day from the initial schedule.

For now, Kernel 4.0 is in its early development stages but the final version should bring the “Live Patching” feature, which would allow the users to install and use the kernel without rebooting the system. While this is not important for regular users, this feature is very good for Linux servers.

In this article I will show you how to install Kernel 4.0 RC2  on Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet, Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusy Tahr, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, LXLE 14.04, Peppermint Five, Deepin 2014, Linux Lite 2, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya and other Ubuntu derivative systems.
