Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, LauncherSwitcher (LSwitcher) is an open-source tool that
allows the users to pin the the apps from the Unity Launcher, depending on the current workspace.
LSwitcher provides two options, one to enable or disable saving the Unity Launcher and another feature for adding apps to the startup list. In order to use this app, you have to enable the multiple workspaces: System Settings > Appearance > Behavior > Enable workspaces
The latest version available is LauncherSwitcher (LSwitcher) 0.9.9, which has been recently released.
In this article I will show you how to install LauncherSwitcher 0.9.9 on Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet, Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn and Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, all using Unity.
Because it is available via PPA, installing LSwitcher 0.9.9 on Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the lswitcher package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vlijm/lswitcher
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install lswitcher
Optional, to remove lswitcher, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove lswitcher
