How To Install Nathive 0.924 On Linux Systems

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Nathive is an open-source, lightweight image editor developed in GTK+ and Python. The tool has basic photo manipulation functions like crop, color level managements, saturation adjustment.

Also, it has support for third party plugins.

The latest version available is Nathive 0.924, which has been recently released, bringing the below changes:

  • Added indenter stdout and single file options.
  • Fixed docgen with space indentation.
  • Excluded html docs from version tree.

In this article I will show you how to install Nathive 0.924 on Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, CentOS, OpenSUSE, Mageia, OpenMandriva and other systems using either deb or rpm packages.

Because it is not available via any repository or PPA, we have to download the package for our system and architecture exactly and install it via command-line.

How to install Nathive 0.924 on Ubuntu, Debian and derivative systems:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ sudo apt-get install gdebi
$ wget http://www.nathive.org/dl/nathive_0.924-1_i386-py27.deb
$ sudo gdebi nathive_0.924-1_i386-py27.deb

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ sudo apt-get install gdebi
$ wget http://www.nathive.org/dl/nathive_0.924-1_amd64.deb
$ sudo gdebi nathive_0.924-1_amd64.deb

Optional, to remove nathive, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove nathive

How to install Nathive 0.924 on Fedora, CentOS and derivative systems:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ wget http://www.nathive.org/dl/nathive-0.924-1.i386-py27.rpm
$ sudo yum install nathive-0.924-1.i386-py27.rpm

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget http://www.nathive.org/dl/nathive-0.924-1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo yum install nathive-0.924-1.x86_64.rpm

Optional, to remove nathive, do:

$ sudo yum remove nathive

How to install Nathive 0.924 on OpenSUSE and derivative systems:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ wget http://www.nathive.org/dl/nathive-0.924-1.i386-py27.rpm
$ sudo zypper install nathive-0.924-1.i386-py27.rpm

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget http://www.nathive.org/dl/nathive-0.924-1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo zypper install nathive-0.924-1.x86_64.rpm

Optional, to remove nathive, do:

$ sudo zypper remove nathive

How to install Nathive 0.924 on Mageia, OpenMandriva and derivative systems:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ wget http://www.nathive.org/dl/nathive-0.924-1.i386-py27.rpm
$ sudo urpmi nathive-0.924-1.i386-py27.rpm

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget http://www.nathive.org/dl/nathive-0.924-1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo urpmi nathive-0.924-1.x86_64.rpm

Optional, to remove nathive, do:

$ sudo urpme nathive
