There is no repository available containing Opera 12.16 for the listed Debian based systems, but we can easily download the deb packages from the official site and install them with dpkg. Follow the instructions for your system’s architecture exactly, in order to get a successful installation.

How to install Opera 12.16 on 32 bit Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, KWheezy, Crunchbang, Pear OS and Elementary OS systems:

$ wget -c deb.opera.com/opera/pool/non-free/o/opera/opera_12.16.1860_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i opera_12.16.1860_i386.deb
$ sudo apt-get install -f
