Hello Linux Geeksters. Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Pogo is a simple and lightweight easy-to-use Audio Player based on Decibel, written in Python and using GTK+ and gstreamer. It is capable of finding a song very fast, in the playlist. The latest version available is Pogo 0.8.3, which has been released a while ago.
In this article I will show you how to install Pogo 0.8.3 on Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, Pinguy OS 12.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Deepin 2014, Linux Lite 2.0, LXLE 14.04, Peppermint Five and other Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 12.04 derivative systems.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Pogo 0.8.3 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementary OS and Pear OS is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa, update the local repository index and install the pogo package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pogo-dev/stable
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install pogo
Optional, to remove pogo, do:
$ sudo apt-get rempve pogo
