How To Install Recoll 1.19.14p2 On Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04 And Derivatives

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Recoll is an open source full-text search tool for Linux, developed in Qt. Among others, it has support for finding keywords inside text files (capable of reading all the popular document formats), email attachments, archive members, etc.

The latest version available is Recoll 1.19.14p2, which has been released a while ago, coming with fixes for the Bengali diacritics, a memory leak in the Python module has been removed and a few issues in the filters have been repaired.

In this article I will show you how to install 1.19.14p2 on Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, LXLE 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Linux Lite 2.0, Peppermint Five, Deepin 2014 and other Ubuntu derivative systems.

Because it is available via PPA, installing Recoll 1.19.14p2 on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pinguy OS, LXLE, Elementary OS, Peppermint and Deepin systems is easy. All you have to do is add the pa to your system, update the local repository index and install the recoll package. Like this:
