How To Install Screencloud 1.1.6 on Fedora 20, Fedora 19, Opensuse 13.1 And OpenSUSE 12.3

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Screencloud is a cloud storage service for uploading screenshots, easy and fast. The users can take screenshots by pressing some key combinations and place the photos on the local computer, personal ftp or on the screencloud.net (to upload the screenshots on the cloud, you have to create an account on screencloud.net)

Keyboard shortcuts for taking screenshots:

  • Shift + Alt + 1 : To capture the whole screen;
  • Shift + Alt + 2 : To select an area to capture;
  • Shift + Alt + 3 : To capture the current window.

The latest version available is Screencloud 1.1.6, which has been released a while ago.

In this article I will show you how to install Screencloud 1.1.6 on Fedora 20, Fedora 19, OpenSUSE 13.1 and OpenSUSE 12.3 systems.

Follow the instructions for your system and architecture exactly, in order to get a successful installation.

How to install Screencloud 1.1.6 on Fedora 20 systems:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/olav-st/Fedora_20/i686/screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.i686.rpm
$ sudo yum localinstall screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.i686.rpm

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/olav-st/Fedora_20/x86_64/screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo yum localinstall screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.x86_64.rpm

How to install Screencloud 1.1.6 on Fedora 19 systems:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/olav-st/Fedora_19/i686/screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.i686.rpm
$ sudo yum localinstall screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.i686.rpm

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/olav-st/Fedora_19/x86_64/screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo yum localinstall screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.x86_64.rpm

Optional, to remove Screencloud 1.1.6, from both Fedora 20 and Fedora 19 systems, do:

$ sudo yum remove screencloud

How to install Screencloud 1.1.6 on OpenSUSE 13.1 systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/olav-st/openSUSE_13.1/i586/screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.i586.rpm
$ sudo zypper install screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.i586.rpm

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/olav-st/openSUSE_13.1/x86_64/screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo yum localinstall screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.x86_64.rpm

How to install Screencloud 1.1.6 on OpenSUSE 12.3 systems:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/olav-st/openSUSE_12.3/i586/screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.i586.rpm
$ sudo zypper install screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.i586.rpm

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/olav-st/openSUSE_12.3/x86_64/screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo yum localinstall screencloud-1.1.6-3.1.x86_64.rpm

Optional, to remove Screencloud 1.1.6, from both OpenSUSE 13.1 and OpenSUSE 12.3, do:

$ sudo zypper remove screencloud
