How To Install ScreenGen 1.7 On OpenSUSE 13.1, OpenSUSE 12.3 And OpenSUSE 12.2, Via The Packman Multimedia Repository

Hello Linux Geeksters. ScreenGen is commandline tool for creating thumbnails from videos and uses the ffmpeg-libs in the background. The latest version available is ScreenGen 1.7, which brings some fixes to the previous version. A full list of parameters can be found at this link.

In this article I will show you how to install ScreenGen 1.7 on OpenSUSE 13.1, OpenSUSE 12.3 and OpenSUSE 12.2.

Because it is available via the Packman Multimedia Repository, installing ScreenGen 1.7 on the listed OpenSUSE systems is easy. All you have to do is add the repository to your system, update the local repository index and install the screengen package.

Follow the instructions for your system exactly, in order to get a successful installation.

How to install ScreenGen 1.7 on OpenSUSE 13.1, via the Packman Multimedia Repository:

$ sudo zypper ar -f -n packman-multimedia http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_13.1/Multimedia/ packman-multimedia
$ sudo zypper refresh
$ sudo zypper install screengen

How to install ScreenGen 1.7 on OpenSUSE 12.3, via the Packman Multimedia Repository:

$ sudo zypper ar -f -n packman-multimedia http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_12.3/Multimedia/ packman-multimedia
$ sudo zypper refresh
$ sudo zypper install screengen

How to install ScreenGen 1.7 on OpenSUSE 12.2, via the Packman Multimedia Repository:

$ sudo zypper ar -f -n packman-multimedia http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_12.2/Multimedia/ packman-multimedia
