Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Shutter is a screenshot tool, similar to the Windows 7 Snipping Tool. The latest version available is Shutter 0.90, which comes without some third party plugins, because of some licence issues.

On Unity, the users also have an indicator in the menu, enabling them an easier Shutter usage.

In this article I will show you how to install Shutter 0.90 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

Follow this steps exactly for a successful installation:

Add the PPA:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shutter/ppa

Update the local repository index:

$ sudo apt-get update

Install Shutter:

$ sudo apt-get install shutter
