How to Install SMPlayer 0.8.4 on Ubuntu 12.10 and Ubuntu 12.04

In this article I will show you how to install SMPlayer 0.8.4 on your Ubuntu 12.10 and Ubuntu 12.04 system.

SMPlayer is a free and open source multimedia player. I will show you how to install it via command line, from the SMPlayer repository.

Add the SMPlayer PPA:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rvm/smplayer

Update the system:

$ sudo apt-get update

Install SMPlayer:

$ sudo apt-get install smplayer

If you want, you can also install the additional SMPlayer skins:

$ sudo apt-get install smplayer-skins smplayer-themes smtube
