How To Install The Nitrux Icon Theme 3.2.7 On Ubuntu, Linux Mint And Elementary OS

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, the Nitrux Icon Theme is a set of handcrafted icons. The latest version available is Nitrux Icon Theme 3.2.7, which has been recently released, coming with icons for Hugin, Meshlab, Musicbrainz and Tuxguitar.

 how to install the Nitrux Icon Theme 3.2.7 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.

In this article I will show you how to install the Nitrux Icon Theme 3.2.7 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.

Because it is available via PPA, installing the Nitrux Icon Theme 3.2.7 on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the needed package.

For GTK based Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS systems:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nitrux/nitrux-artwork
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install nitrux-icon-theme

Optional, to remove the Nitrux Icon Theme, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove nitrux-icon-theme

For Qt based systems (for now, working only on Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint 17):

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nitrux/nitrux-artwork
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install nitrux-icon-theme-kde

Optional, to remove the Nitrux Icon Theme KDE, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove nitrux-icon-theme-kde
