How To Install VLC 2.2 On Ubuntu 13.10, 13.04, 12.10, 12.04 And Linux Mint 15, 14, 13 Via PPA

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, VLC is a popular audio and video player, working on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. The latest version available is VLC 2.1, while the current unstable version is VLC 2.2.

In this article I will show you how to install VLC 2.2 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13.

Because it is available via PPA. installing VLC 2.2 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy, all you have to do is:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/master-daily
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install vlc

    Does the VLC 2.2 come with VDPAU or do I have to install it my self?
