Hello Linux Geeksters. In this article I will show you how to install Wine 1.6 RC4 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
The fourth release candidate of Wine 1.6, Wine 1.6 RC4 has been released with many bugfixes, brought to the previous version, Wine RC3 . A full list of improvements can be found in the official announcement.
Installing Wine 1.6 RC4 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy, because it is available via PPA:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install wine1.6 winetricks
