How To Install YaRock 0.9.67 On Fedora, Arch Linux And OpenSUSE Systems

Hello Linux Geeksters. YaRock is an open-source audio player based on QT4 and Phonon multimedia framework and written on C++. It is multiplatform, works on Linux, Mac and Windows.

It has support for the most popular audio formats and playlists (m3u, pls and others) and online radio stations. It can be also used from the terminal, offering a light and fast usage. It does not have desktop environment dependencies, so it can be easily installed on your Linux box.

The latest version available is YaRock 0.9.67, which has been released a while ago, coming with the below changes and fixes:

How to install Yarock 0.9.67 on Fedora 21, Fedora 20 and Fedora 19 systems:

YaRock 0.9.67 is available via the default repositories of the latest Fedora systems, so all you have to do is update the local repository index and install the yarock package:

$ sudo yum update
$ sudo yum install yarock

Optional, to remove yarock, do:

$ sudo yum remove yarock

How to install YaRock 0.9.67 on OpenSUSE 13.1 systems:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/WhiteAMD:/testing/openSUSE_13.1/i586/yarock-0.9.67-17.1.i586.rpm
$ sudo zypper install yarock-0.9.67-17.1.i586.rpm

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/WhiteAMD:/testing/openSUSE_13.1/x86_64/yarock-0.9.67-17.1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo zypper install yarock-0.9.67-17.1.x86_64.rpm

Optional, to remove yarock, do:

$ sudo zypper remove yarock

How to install YaRock 0.9.67 on Arch Linux, Manjaro and Antergos systems:

$ sudo pacman -Sy yaourt
$ sudo yaourt yarock

Optional, to remove YaRock on Arch Linux, Manjaro and Antergos systems, do:

$ sudo yaourt -Rsn yarock
