How to Upgrade From Debian Squeeze To Debian Wheezy

Hello Linux Geeksters.

In this article I will show you how to upgrade / update Debian Squeeze to Debian Wheezy. As you know, Debian Wheezy has just been released.

Upgrading from Squeeze to Wheezy is easy, all you have to do is:

Get Squeeze up to date:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Edit the sources and upgrade to Wheezy:

$ sudo sed -i 's/squeeze/wheezt/' /etc/apt/sources.list
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -d
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
