In this article I will show you how to install Caffeine on Ubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 12.10, Linux Mint 12 and Linux Mint 13.
Caffeine is a life saver software. It blocks the PC from suspending, or get the screen locked, when some applications are running.
I use it to disable any kind of suspend or screen saver action when I watch movies (have VLC or Mplayer opened).
Installing Caffeine on Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 12 and Linux Mint 13:
1. Adding the Caffeine repo:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:caffeine-developers/ppa
2. Update the system:
sudo apt-get update
3. Install Caffeine:
sudo apt-get install caffeine python-glade2

In ubuntu 12.10 (well, xubuntu at least), you also need to install gir1.2-notify, ie the command should be
sudo apt-get install caffeine python-glade2 gir1.2-notify
