Kernel 4.1 LTS Will Be Supported For The Next Two Years

Greg Kroah-Hartman has announced that Kernel 4.1 LTS will be supported for the next two years.

The developer has already announced this at LinuxCon Japan, but the kernel was not desplayed as LTS on the kernel.org website, so he need to clarify it, for the users that had doubts.

Greg KH’s official announcement:

“I announced this a few months ago at LinuxCon Japan, but lots of people seem to not have believed me. Here, have a patch, do you believe me now? I’ll be maintaining 4.1 for the next two years, proving that after a decade of doing stable kernels, I still do not know any better,”
