Linux Mint 15 XFCE Stable Has Been Officially Released

At first, Linux Mint 15 Olivia has been released only in two flavours, Cinnamon and Mate and last month the developers have also created some release candidate versions of Linux Mint 15 KDE and Linux Mint 15 XFCE.

Today, Linux Mint 15 Olivia XFCE stable has been finally released. As you may know, XFCE is a lightweight desktop environment, ideal for old computers.

Linux Mint 15 XFCE, comes with XFCE 4.10, uses MDM as the default display manager and the Driver Manager tool, that has been released with Linux Mint 15 and has the main features of Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon / Mate. Also the new Whisker menu has been implemented by default, on the system.

Minimum requirements, for Linux Mint 15 XFCE:

  • x86 processor (Linux Mint 64-bit requires a 64-bit processor. Linux Mint 32-bit works on both 32-bit and 64-bit processors).
  • 384 MB RAM (1GB recommended for a comfortable usage).
  • 5 GB of disk space
  • Graphics card capable of 800×600 resolution
  • DVD drive or USB port

It comes with the following applications installed, by default: Firefox 20.0, Thunderbird 17.0.6, Perl 5.14.2, LibreOffice 4.0.2, VLC 2.0.6, CUPS 1.6.2, Grub2, Gimp 2.8.4 and many others.
