Moonlight: Yet Another Lightweight Desktop Environment Created In Qt5

Hello Linux Geeksters. The Moonlight Desktop Environment is yet another desktop environment for low-end devices like the Raspberry Pi, similar to XFCE, LXDE or Enlightenment.

Moonlight: Yet Another Lightweight Desktop Environment Created In Qt5

This is the official description of Moolight:

“To create a desktop environment compatible with low performance devices, for the purposes of applications, data and hardware management, built on the principles of modularity, integration, weightlessness and simplicity, utilizing open source technologies. The integration in Moonlight-desktop is at achieved, internally, by grouping the different modules into a single application as plug-ins and, externally, by making an extensive usage of the XDG standards in order to ease the interoperability with third party applications.”

While the Moolight project is in early development stage, contributors are needed. Anyone familiar with C++, Qt5, HTML, CSS and capable of creating designs in Gimp can contribute. For more information, see the official Github page of the project. via lffl.org
