Oracle Has Made Available Its Virtualbox Repository For Ubuntu 14.10

Hello Linux Geeksters. Oracle has recently added the Virtualbox package for Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn to their main repository, permitting the users to easily stay up to date with their favorite virtual machine emulator.

Today, the Virtualbox repository for Ubuntu 14.10 contains Virtualbox 4.3.20, which is the latest version available.

To add the Virtualbox repository on Ubuntu 14.10 and install the latest Virtualbox version available, you have to add the repository to your system, download and apply the key, update the local repository index and install the virtualbox-4.3 package. Like this:

$ wget -q -O - http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/oracle_vbox.asc | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian utopic non-free contrib" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/virtualbox.org.list'
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install virtualbox-4.3
