Pear OS 8 Beta 3 Has Been Released Yesterday

Yesterday, Pear OS 8 Beta 3 has been released. The main developer of the Pear OS 8 project is David Tavares, the creator of the Sync Drive Google Drive Client.

Pear OS 8 Beta 3 uses Linux Kernel 3.8.0 and is based on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail. Among others, the updated applications are: My Pear 6, Pear Security, Pear Contacts, Pear Cloud, Pear Updated and Pear Icons theme.

As a reminder, Pear OS is using a customized Gnome Shell Desktop Environment, named Pear Shell. Also, Pear OS is famous for having a design insired by iOS. Pear OS 8 will look very alike to iOS 7.

    Call me crazy, but as an iOS user, I just don’t see how the design is inspired by iOS…… I’m using the Beta 3 now and it’s more like Mac OS X than anything else.
