Plug A Mouse Into Your Ubuntu Phone And You Have A Computer

Mark Shuttleworth’s biggest ambition is to reach mobile-desktop convergence, which means that both the desktop and the mobile platform use the same code base, with an intelligent “responsive” interface.

Also, if you plug a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse, you have a full flagged computer. If you plug in bluetooth mouse and keyboard, the launcher switches to the PC version and the windows become movable and clickable.

This feature is still in its early development stages, but it already behaves well enough to be appreciated by geeks.

If you need convergence proofs, see this two article: Ubuntu Web Browser and Music App.

As a reminder, Ubuntu Touch is a stable operating system, but it is not mature enough, compared to Android and iOS. For now, there are three Ubuntu Phones: Bq Aquaris E5 HD, Bq Aquaris E4.5, Meizu MX4, but the system is also officially supported on the LG Nexus 4 device.
