The Arch User Repository (AUR) Is Now 100% Git Based

As we have previously written, the Arch Linux Team announced that the AUR repository will be Git-based and the entire migration process will be done by the 8th of August.

AURweb 4.0.0 has been released, the Arch Linux User Repository (AUR), Git repositories being now used for the AUR packages, permitting the registered AUR users to login via SSH.

For more information, see the official changelog.

If you are not familiar with Arch Linux, AUR is Arch’s alternative to Canonical’s LaunchPad. The AUR is a single repository with a lot of maintainers, while LaunchPad hosts a lot of repositories with one or more maintainers.

Instead of adding tons of repos to get the latest software, you add only AUR.
