The Elementary OS Icons Have Been Moved From Launchpad To GitHub

As you may know, Elementary OS is among the most beautiful Linux systems available, using as code-base the newest LTS version of Ubuntu.

Today, one of the Elementary OS developers have announced that the system’s icons have been moved from Canonical’s Launchpad to GitHub, in order to encourage collaboration and reuse.

The developers consider that GitHub is more OS-independent and so, they should get more developers and designers to use their icons and contribute to it.

A lot of Ubuntu, Elementary OS and other deb-based applications are stored on Launchpad, because the developers find it a good collaboration tool for sharing code, but GitHub has also gained traction lately.
