The First Ubuntu Touch Phones To Receive FM Support Are Bq Aquaris E4.5 And Bq Aquaris E5

As you may know, the modern Android smartphones do not come with FM Radio support enabled by default, despite the fact that some of them are supported by the hardware.

A bunch of third party developers have started working at bringing FM support to the Ubuntu Touch phones developed by Bq, because both Bq Aquaris E4.5 and Bq Aquaris E5 have FM implemented at the chipset level, while Nexus 4 and Meizu MX4 don’t have such a feature.

While Canonical has other things to worry about, the community members are struggling to implement their favorite feature to the devices, and this is only one of the beauties of the open-source software.

As a reminder, Ubuntu Touch is Canonical’s mobile version of Ubuntu and is pre-installed only on the Bq Aquaris E4.5, Bq Aquaris E5 and Meizu MX4 but is also supported on Nexus 4 and Nexus 7.
