Hello Linux Geeksters. According to the official Linux Mint Blog, Linux Mint 16 will be called Petra. Linux Mint 16 Petra will come in four flavours: Cinnamon, Mate, KDE, XFCE.

Linux Mint 16 Petra will be probably released this year, in November, but Linux Mint does not have official dates for new releases, like Ubuntu has. It is well known that Linux Mint tries to ditch Gnome (it is no suprise that Linux Mint will not be released with Gnome, by default), and has started creating its own applications for Cinnamon, instead of using the Gnome ones. Linux Mint 16 will also bring Cinnamon 2.0, a more stable and comprehensive DE.
