The Official Upgrade Path To Linux Mint 17.2 Now Works On Linux Mint 17/Linux Mint 17.1, For All Flavors Available

While Linux Mint 17.2 has not been yet released in its KDE and XFCE flavors, the two being available as RCs, Clement Lefebvre, the main developer of Linux Mint, has announced that the official upgrade path has been patched to work from either Linux Mint 17 or Linux Mint 17.1 to Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela, no matter the DE used.

So, in order to upgrade your system, you can either follow our guide here or the official upgrade path.

As a reminder, Linux Mint has recently changed its release strategy and decided to adopt only the LTS versions of Ubuntu. Like Linux Mint 17 and Linux Mint 17.1, Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela is based on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr and uses latest generation desktop environments: Cinnamon 2.6 and MATE 1.10, but most likely, many Linux Mint-specific improvements have been implemented.
