As you may know, Canonical has just updated the Linux Kernel used on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander to Kernel 3.11 RC5. The final goal is to implement the Kernel 3.11 by the time Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander will be released (this year in October).

If you are toying around one of the Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander Daily Builds and want to update the system to Kernel 3.11 RC5, do this:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Canonical also plans to release Ubuntu 13.10 Daily Builds every 4 hours, in order to facilitate the developers to push updates with a greater speed.

This is what Didier Roche, one of the Canonical developers said in the mailing lists:

” So now, the daily release process is run way more often to speed up our delivery time to the baseline (every 4h). “
