As you may know, Canonical has added an online search functionality to the Unity 7 Dash starting with Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr. The community was not pleased with the fact that Dash searches triggered online results and many of them disabled the feature, but Canonical has disabled it by default, on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
But this is a little more complicated that it sounds, because the searches were redirected through Canonical’s servers to provide anonymity, so the Ubuntu devs also need to change the infrastructure.
Also, the Audacious, Clementine, gmusicbrowser, Gourmet, Guayadeque, and Musique scopes abd the Music Store have been also removed from Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus.
