Ubuntu after install package: The first package that should be installed on Ubuntu 13.04

The new Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail will be released soon, this month and I decided to make things easier for the Ubuntu users with this article.

This package works for Ubuntu 13.04, Ubuntu 12.10 and Ubuntu 12.04

The first package you should install on the new Ubuntu is ubuntu-after-install_1.4_all.deb.  Ubuntu afterinstall adds the most popular PPAs and gives you the possibility to automate the installation of the following apps:

  • Ubuntu Restricted Extras video codecs and Flash Plugin
  • Medibuntu for DVD playback
  • Gnome Tweak Tool / MyUnity / Unity Tweak Tool (Depending on Ubuntu version)
  • Faenza Icon Theme
  • XScreenSaver
  • My Weather Indicator
  • Calendar Indicator
  • Google Chrome
  • LibreOffice
  • Skype
  • DropBox
  • VLC
  • XBMC
  • GIMP
  • Darktable
  • Inkscape
  • Scribus
  • Samba
  • PDF Mod
  • SSH Server
  • Vinagre
  • FileZilla
  • OpenShot
  • Kdenlive
  • Handbrake

To install Ubuntu After Install, just download the DEB file from the official site and install it with dpkg:
