The Ubuntu Touch community has started work at upebble, an open-source application that permits the users to connect their Ubuntu Touch with Pebble watches, a smartwatch crowdfunded in 2013 that has been sold in over a million units.
Canonical is all hands on deck right now trying to fix other things, but the beauty of open-source is that everybody with the needed skills can contribute to it and add their favorite features to Ubuntu Touch.
One month ago, when the project was started, there was only support for call notifications, but telegram notifications, calendar notifications, call control and Evernote task notifications have been also implemented, so far.
If you own both a Pebble smartwatch and an Ubuntu Touch and want two sync those two, follow this quickguide created by Wayneward.
As a reminder, Ubuntu Touch is Canonical’s mobile version of Ubuntu and is pre-installed only on the Bq Aquaris E4.5, Bq Aquaris E5 and Meizu MX4 but is also supported on Nexus 4 and Nexus 7.
