WattOS : A Lightweight Alternative To Lubuntu 13.04

WattOS is a lightweight Linux distribution based on Ubuntu and an ideal operating system for outdated computers.

WattOS R7, based on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail has been released a few days ago, running with LXDE. The new wattOS has multi-monitor support, improved printing management and a decreased  resource consumption on laptops.

WattOS works on Intel Pentium 3 (and higher) computers, needing only 192-156 MG of RAM.

WattOS has installed, by default, the following applications:

  • Chromium 25.0.1364.160 with flash player already installed
  • PCManFM 1.1.0
  • Filezilla 3.6.0.2
  • Transmission 2.77
  • Abiword 2.9.2, gnumeric 1.12.1
  • ePDFViewer 0.1.8
  • Audacious 3.3.4
  • Cheese 3.6.2
  • VideoLAN VLC 2.0.6
  • Xfburn 0.4.3
