Xtreme Download Manager: How to Install xdman on Ubuntu 13.04, 12.10, 12.04, Linux Mint 15, 14, 13

Hello Linux Geeksters.

In this article I will show you how to install Xtreme Download Manager (xdman) on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

Xtreme Download Manager (xdman) is a java based download manager. It supports pause and resume for downloads. This download manager integrates with any internet browser.

To install Xtreme Download Manager, xdman, do this:

Download xdman:

$ mkdir xdman
$ cd xdman
$ wget -c http://sourceforge.net/projects/xdman/files/xdman.zip/download

Extract xdman:

$ unzip download.zip

Set execution permissions on xdman.sh:

$ chmod +x xdman.sh

Install xdman:

$ ./xdman.sh

    i’m facing problem in its xtraction , it shows can not find xdman.zip , even if i’d downloaded the xdman.zip….. whAT TO DO , GUYZ?????

    sorry but now i figured it out, the zip file had been downloaded with the name download in xdman dir , i just need to rename it xdman.zip.

    It will be better to make a deb to automatically install something it need ,java for example.Making a xdman.desktop in /usr/share/aplications wil also be better.

    instead of unzip xdman.zip, use unzip download.zip it works for me

    ./xdman.sh: 2: ./xdman.sh: java: not found

    but this was in lunux mint 14 hope it works for all linux versions including ubuntu
