Hello Linux Geeksters. While BQ has already released its BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition, Meizu has recently confirmed at MWC 2015 that their first Ubuntu phone will be Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition, which has impressive hardware specifications.

While BQ’s Ubuntu phone is available only in the European Union countries, Meizu has recently announced that the Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition will be sold internationally, so the US users don’t have to worry that they will not have the chance to get an Ubuntu phone.
Also, the first official Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition photo from MWC, if we don’t take into consideration the promotional images, has been posted on Meizu’s Twitter account.
For those who don’t know yet, Meizu MX4 has the new MediaTek MT6595 SoC octa-core, combining a 2.2 Ghz quad-core Cortex A17 processor and a 1.7 GHz quad-core A7 processor, used separately or simultaneously, depending on the need. Also, it uses a 5.36-inch Sharp/JDI display, at a 1920 x 1152 resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a 20.7 MPX back camera and 2 MPX front camera, uses a PowerVR G6200 GPU, 2 GB of RAM memory, 16/32/64 GB internal storage, has support for LTE, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and uses a 3100 mAh battery.
